# Design principles

> The five commitments every part of AtlasYield is built on.

* **Neutrality.** AtlasYield is not paid by protocols to be scored, and the score cannot
be bought. The scoring model treats every vault the same way.
* **Ex-ante accountability.** Every score is published *before the fact* and snapshotted
daily to a public git repository. The history cannot be quietly rewritten after a vault
blows up — anyone can check what we said, when we said it, against what happened next.
* **Determinism, not "AI".** There is no language model and no black-box classifier in
the scoring or allocation path. Same inputs in, same score and same portfolio out,
  every time.
* **Non-custody.** AtlasYield never holds user funds, never pools deposits, and never
moves money on its own. Every position sits in the user's own account, in the
underlying protocol's own vault, and nothing moves without the user's signature.
* **Honesty about uncertainty.** Every score carries a [data-quality flag](/score/reading-a-score),
and the methodology states plainly what a score is not.
